Ages 5-8 – “Improv for Interaction” Social Skills Group

Sundays 12:30-2:00 pm PT

In-Person at Adrian’s Place– 1806 Lincoln Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90404

Using improvisation, theater games and role-play, students in our “Improv for Interaction” classes practice skills needed for positive social interaction. Participants will increase their capacity to focus, take and follow direction, and ease anxiety. Among the themes this class will touch upon are:

  • Initiating conversation and play;
  • Building communication skills;
  • Self regulation and comfort;
  • Identifying emotions;
  • Communicating wants and needs;
  • Turn taking and following simple direction;
  • Participating in non-preferred activities;
  • Two-way communication with peers;
  • Initiating conversation and play;
  • Pretend play;
  • Community safety.
