The Miracle Project presents The Influencer – an original musical, created and starring a neurodiverse cast. When a Midwest family moves to the big city, their stability is shaken by the influences of work, peer pressure and social media.
The Influencer emerged from an exploration of the ways that we unknowingly allow social media, pop culture, and corporate marketing to impact who we are. This musical also asks us to examine the ways in which we are all “influencers” and the ways we can be “a positive influence” on each other and the world. In The Influencer, it is the sensitive ones – the ones who see the world in a slightly different way – who recoil from the onslaught of external messages, follow their own truth and ultimately lead others to do the same.
