Ages 18+ – “Improv for Interaction” Social Skills Group
Offered both ONLINE & IN-PERSON

Using improvisation, theater games and role-play, students in our “Improv for Interaction” classes practice skills needed for positive social interaction. Participants will increase their capacity to focus, take and follow direction, and ease anxiety. Among the themes this class will touch upon are:
- Building and sustaining friendships;
- Taking and following direction;
- Understanding and applying feedback;
- Developing skills for self-advocacy;
- Reading social “cues”;
- Setting and respecting appropriate boundaries;
- Telling and “getting” jokes;
- Finding tools to ease anxiety and self-regulate;
- Understanding idioms;
- Dating;
- Finding creative ways to deal with teasing, bullying and cyber-bullying;
- Exploring deeper emotional relationships;
- Practicing job skills;
- Prioritizing self-care and personal appearance;
- Embracing flexibility, spontaneity, imagination and playfulness.
This class, like all Miracle Project classes, is neurodiverse and includes neuro-typical peer role models – called “co-actors.” If interested in volunteering as a co-actor, please click here (link to volunteer page).

All participants attending The Miracle Project programming in-person are required to:
- Sign The Miracle Project’s Parent/Participant safety agreement (provided upon registration of the class)
- Complete COVID-19 Screening Forms before attending each in-person class.
- Wear masks at all times when indoors (regardless of vaccination status). Masks are not required, yet strongly recommended, for all outdoor programming.
