“A strength of The Miracle Project is that it is designed to address many of the core challenges faced by children and individuals on the autism spectrum in a low stress, fun and supportive context over time. These challenges include socialization, communication, and dealing with the emotional regulatory challenges of group activity.“

“Being with the kids taught me that ‘there is more than meets the eye’. I feel so lucky to be a part of their fun! It seems there is a genuine kindness and honesty in the group that leaves me with a sense of appreciation.”

“The Miracle Project not only offers fun and growth for kids with disabilities but for children without them as well. I love going every Wednesday. It is definitely the highlight of my week.”

The Miracle Project volunteers are wonderful -- positive, playful, serious, careful, connected, and dedicated. The peer volunteers, especially, have given so much to my son -- he now has neurotypical boys and girls his own age who he can call his friends, and I know they consider him a friend as well. Talk about inclusion in action!

"I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to work with The Miracle Project. I made so many new friends and realized the impact that compassion, friendship, and trust can have on our lives… When we remove the limits and stereotypes we often place on our friends with special needs, we can truly see their potential, dedication, and talent shine through. The Miracle Project has completely changed my outlook on life, and it is empowering to have a proven example that nothing can stop you from following your dreams if you are determined and have a little support from a friend."

"Working with The Miracle Project has changed my life. A majority of the kids I work with are nonverbal, and instead communicate through noises and gestures. It is amazing to see these children go from being unable to speak to singing and dancing on the stage. The stage really can transform you. I am so lucky to be a part of this organization. I learned through this program to not focus on the disabilities of individuals, but to instead focus on their extraordinary abilities. I am so lucky. I love everybody involved with this organization. We need more people like this in the world."

The Miracle Project is aptly named as it releases the ability within the disability from which not only our children but our families suffer. The joy of inter-relatedness is realized not just by the kids with the diagnosis, but the siblings and parents who are often equally isolated.

“The way the students strengths are highlighted while their ‘deficits’ are accepted and worked with, allows these kids to believe in themselves and to give their best. It is a perfectly safe environment for them to be themselves”

“Each year that my son participates in The Miracle Project he becomes more confident, happier, more playful, braver, more willing to take risks, and more sociable. He has made great friends at The Miracle Project, and he has gained a stronger belief in himself… ... My son has grown as a performer, creator, and -- especially -- as a person every year that he's participated in The Miracle Project… As a family, we are less isolated, and also reap the benefits of being part of a group.”

The Miracle Project has been crucial for my son's social development… The program allows him to nurture friendships, and create a feeling of confidence in his abilities. It picks up where the school lacks in allowing these children creative outlets for their aspirations.

The Miracle Project has taught my son so many valuable life lessons. It has given him the confidence and tools needed to be successful in a job and everyday life. It has helped his self esteem. This program is needed for children and adults with disabilities in our community.

The Miracle Project has been, hands down, the best program for us out of all the many programs in which we have participated. The Miracle Project has changed my daughter's life! She has gone from shy and withdrawn to confident and outgoing. The Miracle Project is not just a program, it is a community. An incredible community of love and support and friendship. We feel truly fortunate to be a part of it!
